“When you do something, you should do it with your whole body and mind; you should be concentrated on what you do. You should do it completely, like a good bonfire. You should not be a smoky fire. You should burn yourself completely. If you do not burn yourself completely, a trace of yourself will be left in what you do.”
― Shunryu Suzuki, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind: Informal Talks on Zen Meditation and Practice
I was raised on a farm near Fairfax, Iowa. I graduated from Coe College in 2006, followed by a couple years working at Veridian Credit Union and Family Merchants Bank (NKA Kerndt Brothers). In 2011, I graduated from The University of Iowa College of Law and began my legal career with Klinger, Robinson & Ford, LLP in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. While I enjoyed being in private practice, I moved in-house at UFG Insurance in 2015 to work on SEC matters, insurance regulation, and corporate transactions.
I am involved with the Linn County Bar Association. In my free time, I enjoy running, cycling and learning about computers and technology.
